At 11:15 am on Tuesday, August 9, we gathered in St. Margaret Mary Church for a send-off Mass and blessing. With Fr. Peter’s wonderful encouragement and blessing, we collected our Rosaries and embarked on our journey. Following a delay in O’Hare, an eight-hour flight, we finally arrived in Madrid! As we sprinted toward the Lisbon-bound aircraft, we found ourselves amidst fellow World Youth Day pilgrims from all over the world. We departed from Madrid at 9 am, only to arrive in Lisbon, Portugal after an hour flight at 9:10 am. (Yes, there was a time change.)
